A new exhibition presented by the Creative Health Hub in the Gold Coast University Hospital Foyer invites staff, consumers and their families to engage in some ¡®slow looking¡¯ to gain health and wellbeing benefits from being present in the moment.?
Titled ¡°Gradients of Being¡±, the exhibition shares the work of Gold Coast-based Art Therapist, Anna Ward. Her large, circular paintings transition through subtle gradients of colour and tone to encourage a deeper connection to your own body and emotions.??
Artist Anna Ward invites you to pause, slow down and engage with her art in a mindful way.??
¡°Try engaging in?¡¯slow looking¡¯, where you focus on the gradual transitions of colour - to guide you into a deeper awareness of the present moment. This process creates a unique opportunity for mindfulness and, potentially, healing; a space to recalibrate and reconnect to your own experience¡±, said Anna.??
¡°It is my hope that through this shared journey of slowing down and feeling deeply, the artwork will serve as a vessel for personal insight, emotional resonance, and perhaps even quiet transformation¡±.???
This exhibition is the first Creative Health Hub program to be launched in 2025. There is a comprehensive creative program on offer across hospital spaces that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of staff, consumers and their families. You can view the 2025 program here.
¡°Gradients of Being¡± continues until 31 January 2025.??
